Chrissann Ruehle, DBA, MBA, CPM is a management instructor at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers where she teaches courses in Business Ethics, Organizational Theory and Change, and Management Principles. Further, she has a courtesy appointment as an assistant professor in the Doctor of Business Administration program at the University of South Florida inwhich she mentors DBA students and candidates as they prepare their dissertations. She also performs independent consulting work with firms that are planning to adopt AI.
The title of Dr. Ruehle’s dissertation was “Understanding the Complex Ethical Landscape of Artificial Intelligence Adoptions”. As a follow-up to her dissertation, Dr. Ruehle has developed an active pipeline of AI-related research projects which focuses on topics ranging from paradoxes in business driven by AI adoptions, and situating AI within business systems, to integrating AI with work teams, and understanding ethical considerations prompted by AI usage in firms. In addition to her research, Dr. Ruehle is active in the Academy of Management, Southern Management Association, and the North American Case Research Association and has presented at national and international conferences. Prior to entering academia full time, she worked in a variety of management/operations consulting, marketing, and management roles for Cincinnati firms for nineteen years including Standard Textile, Convergys Corporation, and United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
As a Florida transplant from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Ruehle earned a DBA from the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida, MBA from DeVoe School of Business at Indiana Wesleyan University, CPM (Certified Project Manager) designation from The Williams College of Business at Xavier University, and BS in Business from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University.
Dr. Ruehle appreciates the Southwest Florida lifestyle. She and her husband, Ryan, enjoy camping and hiking in the Everglades, kayaking, yoga, and being out on the water. She and her husband love to take boat rides on the Pirate ship around Marco Island and the Key West Express Ferry. She has one elder rescue dog and a rescue cat which make for a busy household.
