Samantha Champagnie, DBA, MBA, is a Healthcare Executive with over 25 years of leading healthcare financial operations for large healthcare providers across the United States. Currently she leads the financial business operations for Florida Medical Clinic – one of the largest multispecialty physician-owned group practices in the United States.
Dr. Champagnie’ s research and teaching focuses on the business and policy of healthcare reimbursement, the role of the fee-for-service reimbursement system in our current healthcare crisis and the exploration of potential solutions such as Accountable Care and other value-based models of reimbursement. Dr. Champagnie’ s leadership is focused on improving business performance through innovative business applications of technological solutions, applying her Green Belt certification through business process improvement projects and staff development through cultural change initiatives. Her extensive and diverse professional background includes implementing Medicare Part D benefit plan for a 16-billion-dollar Pharmacy Benefit Management company (now Cigna), developing and implementing strategic responses to the financial challenges created by the growing uninsured and underinsured population and building performance-based cultures focused on KPIs
Dr. Champagnie earned a DBA from the Muma School of Business at the University of South Florida, MBA and BBA from the Coggin School of Business at University of North Florida.
Dr. Champagnie’ s idea of unwinding is sinking into a good murder mystery or psychological thriller. Currently her favorite authors are Michael Connelly, James Patterson, and John Grisham. Mother to two adult children, Jahmai and Maiya, Dr. Champagnie and husband Drew are learning the meaning of the term “empty nester” and enjoying it immensely!
