Marcus L. Green, D.B.A., is a cybersecurity instructor for the TGH-USF People Development Institute through the Muma College of Business. He also serves as the CEO of Socratec Cybersecurity Consulting.
Marcus is an information security/cybersecurity professional with over ten years of industry experience. His past roles include Information Systems Security Officer, Lead Security Engineer, and Enterprise Computer Security Incident Response Team member. Most recently, he was contracted to provide cybersecurity exercise design, training, and planning for the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base. He holds many industry-related certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Security Manager, and Certified Advanced Security Practitioner.
Dr. Green is a life-long learner, has numerous degrees, and enjoys teaching in the field of academia. His dissertation research explored human risk factors that drive cyberspace insider threat activities. His teaching experience comprises of an assistant professorship with Oregon State University and numerous instructorship positions with the United States Army. The latter of which he is a 27-year retired combat veteran officer.
Marcus is married to a Virginia Beach cutie who doubles as his best friend. He has a son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter who reside in southern Tennessee and visit to enjoy our palm tree atmosphere and beachy landscape. Mr. and Mrs. Green are proud parents of two Shih Tzus, who possess the rare ability to train humans. Marcus has a life-long love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is a Bucs season ticket holder and can be found at Raymond James Stadium on gamedays cheering for the buccaneer red, pewter, and bay orange.
